Zynga is a leading developer of the world’s most popular social games. Headquartered in San Francisco, our mission is to connect the world through games, and since 2007, more than one billion people have played one of our beloved franchises like FarmVille, Zynga Poker and Words With Friends. In 2014, we acquired NaturalMotion, an Oxford-based mobile game and technology developer and the creator of hits like CSR Racing and Clumsy Ninja. Zynga is named after founder Mark Pincus’ late bulldog Zinga, and the legacy of her playful and loyal nature continues to inspire our company culture.

I spent six years at Zynga in a creative position. One of the aspects I appreciated tremendously was the diversity of the company — gender, ethnic, and age-diversity. I’ve worked for numerous game companies, and Zynga had by far the largest percentage of women, including some programmers.

There was strong support for women within the company. The internal group, Women at Zynga, had meetings and panels.

Having said that, they could still do better at the top. The top levels, especially at the Board and General Manager levels, is short on women. They need to do a better job of promoting and keeping women in top management positions.

But overall, I rate Zynga as a good place for women.
